Who is Des?

Hello,
I'm Desarae... Des for short.

Lover of all things coffee, lemon, and colorful...

I've been called an 'old, wise soul' with eclectic taste.
A vibrant, flowing blend of boho, vintage, funky, classic elegance with a flair for world culture.

Intuitive, perceptive, people watcher...

A little shy at first, I take a deep, long look into a thing before I finally jump in heart first.

There is so much to see and do-
I strive for the experience of life,
new opportunities and a broadened horizon.

adventurous, curious wanderer....

A northern girl at heart,
I have learned to grow where I was transplanted... yes, even if its hot and I'm sitting next to Yucca plants under a Texas sky.

My dreams are vast, my spirit equally so.
But my reality is a bit more down to earth.

I'm single.
The eldest of six home schooled kids raised in a Christian home on thrift stores and DIY-ism.

So far I have been employed as cook, babysitter, journalist, ad salesman, secretary, home health aid, and my father's carpentry assistant.

I still live at home.
Being 'on your own'
is over rated...I tried it for a year,
garnered some good experience,
but mostly learned we aren't meant to be alone...
we can't do life by ourselves.
(At least not me.)

They say a picture is worth a thousand words...
well...
here are six...

... friends...

... family...

 ...and funny faces...

I love God,
though not half as much as He loves me.
When He formed my heart, He put a piece of it in India.
I hope someday to travel there and recover it myself.

And there.
That is my attempt at fitting the vastness of my being
into a nutshell of words and pictures.

I hope you enjoy what you've found and keep coming back.
There is so much we can glean from each other!
