Bloggiversary and Giveaway!
{CLOSED}

Guess what?

Today marks the Two Year Anniversary of this little blog!
I started this blog at about 1a.m. on the morning of March 8, in 2012!
Back then, this blog was a place to share my thoughts and lighthearted little ramblings,
but, since refocusing and taking blogging seriously last spring,
it has really transformed from it's humble beginnings!
So really, I only feel as if I have been blogging for one year, not two.

As a way of saying thank you
for being such a wonderful community of blogging friends,
I am having a giveaway!

Honestly,
this anniversary kind of snuck on me,
so I wish I had more to offer you,
but I think someone out there might be excited to receive
some Vintage sewing patterns!

Giveaway!

As you can see,
two are Simplicity dress patterns from the 60's
and the third is a Vogue pant and top pattern dated 1975.

Sizes:
Both dresses start at bust size 31 and up to 38 inches.
The other pattern starts at bust 31-40 for the top,
and the pants are 33-42 in the hips.

These of course are used patterns,
and I haven't checked to see if all the pieces are there,
but I know they come with the original instruction guides!

I will leave this giveaway open for 1 week,
with the winner to be drawn at random and announced next Saturday!

  2. I enjoy your blog very much from here in the state of Maine and follow you with bloglovin'and Google. Your creative refashion inspires me and I always find a reason to smile here. In high school I had a shirt like the one in the 70s pattern. It was made of lightweight denim and I loved it! The date was the same too ;). Happy bloggy birthday and many more!

  3. Congrats! You are a delight to read about and love all the refashions which is what introduced you to me. Blessings and blessings as you go where God leads you on this life journey. I love your blog by email I guess. I don't need to win anything, not sure what I'd do with them . . . have a few of the old patterns of my mom's from the 60's and '70's myself as I am a child of the 60's (1960) and my mom sewed all of our clothes/dresses (I thought all the moms did that until I bought my first store made dress at 14 because mom was too busy to make one! I loved her handmade dresses best!) I am a crafter not a sewer but am trying to refashion things and/or reuse different fabric or outfits. You have blessed me so richly this year and just had to let you know. Thank you! Oh, I have been in FL for a long time (44 yrs) but am a Northern Illinois mid-west gal!

    1. When I was younger my mom used to sew clothes for me too-- I remember her making me Easter dresses! That was always fun to have a new dress each Easter. :) Wow, how did you end up in Florida all the way from Illinois? I bet the warmer weather is pretty nice!
Thank you for reading my blog, Chris, and I'm so glad that you enjoy it!

    1. Yes I do- I would love to to write you! The best way would be this: click on the "Contact Me" tab up at the top of this page-- you can enter a little message, tell me what you email is, and then that message gets sent right to my email and I will be able to reply to you. By doing it that way though, no one has to put post there email here at the blog, we will be the only ones that see. :) I look forward to hearing from you!

  8. Congratulations on two years of blogging, Desarae! That is a real accomplishment. You learned so much, so fast, about sewing - that is another real accomplishment.

Those patterns look so similar to what I wore as a teenager - no wonder, I suppose, since that was in the 70s :)

My favorite pattern is the pant/top outfit...it looks so comfortable, and I lean towards long tops anyway. :)
